Dear Miss Lonelyhearts passe du rock indie aux sonorités des années 50 et 80, sur un fond aux répétitions et sonorités électroniques scellées par la touche unique de la bande californienne ; le résultat dépasse de loin les attentes.

Dear Miss Lonelyhearts semble pourtant être le parfait reflet de ce qu’ils font le mieux. Ils vont chercher des influences de toutes époques, de tous horizons pour leur donner une fraîcheur unique, mais plus électro, vraisemblablement grâce à la collaboration avec l’ancien membre de Modest Mouse et guitariste de Murder City Devil, Dann Galluci.

Mine is Yours donne un premier coup d’éclat à l’opus de dix morceaux, grâce à ses mélodies superposées de guitare lourde et de piano. On croirait entendre par moment l’influence de Florence & the Machine.
